YouthNet full membership is open to organisations that are:
- Formally constituted voluntary organisations active in the youth sector and based in Northern Ireland.
- Voluntary organisations that have in place the necessary policies, procedures and practice to comply with legislation and safeguard children and young people.
- Organisations that are committed to the following values and principles:-
- the emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual, social and political development of young people
- the development of confident and skilled young people who are able to make informed, critical decisions and exercise their rights as citizens by contributing to and benefiting from a more participatory democracy
- the principles of equity, diversity and interdependence
Affiliate membership is open to organisations meeting some but not all of the above criteria.
Fee Structure
In recognition of the difference in size of member organisations, a tiered membership is in operation.
- Member organisations with more than 3,000 young people in association - £95 pa
- Member organisations with more than 1,000 young people in association - £85 pa
- Other member organisations - £70 pa
- Community based youth organisations - £30 pa
- Affiliate member - £55 pa
Membership Process
Organisations wishing to join YouthNet should download and complete the application form and return it to Youthnet, enclosing copies of the following documents:
- Constitution or Memorandum and Articles of Association
- Organisation’s most recent annual report
- Child Protection Policy and Procedures
- Equal Opportunities Policy
Applications are considered by the YouthNet Executive Committee and if approved are tabled at the next Annual General Meeting for ratification.
