Child Protection Training

Through support from the Department of Education, Youthnet offers a range of child protection training to the Voluntary Youth Sector in Northern Ireland.

Keeping Safe Awareness Raising Training - 9 hour compulsory with an additional 3 hour optional module

Child Protection Training for Management Committees - 6 hours

Child Protection Awareness Training - 6 Hours

Child Protection Awareness Training - 4 Hours

Child Protection Awareness Training - 3 Hours

Child Protection Refresher Training - 1-3 Hours 


Who is eligible?

Youthnet members and their affiliates or voluntary youth groups registered with their local Education and Library Board.  We can also include groups who don’t come under these categories but who are clearly delivering youth work programmes.

Voluntary organisations who are not part of the voluntary youth sector can check out a list of upcoming training on the Volunteer Development Agency web site or contact the Volunteer Development Agency on 028 90236100.

Is there a charge?

Training is free for groups or individuals who are part of the voluntary youth sector in Northern Ireland (it is funded by the Department of Education).


Do we need premises to hold the training?

It is preferable you host the training at your own venue and provide catering.  If you do not have a venue please contact us on 028 90331880 or cptraining@youthnet.co.uk and we may be able to help.  If you are an individual we will notify you of training at a specified venue.


Are there minimum numbers for the training?

We need a minimum of 15 participants to provide training.  If you do not have 15 participants you should still complete the training request form and we can advertise it out to other groups or individuals.
